The History
of Stan’s
Stan’s Frozen Food’s came to being in February of 1964 when
Stan Bolton was given the opportunity to purchase the Vitality Master
Distributor Franchise for Albuquerque, N.M. and the surrounding areas
from Jim Cloud Sales, a local food service distributor.
In the beginning
Stan’s Frozen Food’s was a beverage and frozen food provider,
however, as the years went on and as Stan saw the need to specialize
the frozen food business was sacrificed so that he and his fledgling
company could focus on their core business, beverages.
Originally starting
in Albuquerque, Stan Bolton soon expanded the company north getting clients
in Santa Fe, Gallup, Farmington, Las Vegas and other small towns in northern
New Mexico including Durango, CO.
After expanding north, Stan then decided
to move to the southern part of the state. Stan’s Frozen Foods
expanded into Las Cruses and received their first national/regional account,
Sam Bo’s. Sam Bo’s was an El Paso, TX. based food chain.
From El Paso opportunity came knocking again in the late 1970’s
and early 1980’s in the form of Amarillo, TX. and Lubbock, TX.
where local Vitality distributors were unable to satisfy their clients.
Here Stan’s found their Niche, stepping in to help out current
and prospective customers in need of better service and products.
Stan
worked hard threw out the 80’s not only to develop his business
but also his reputation as a person that one could count on no matter
what to get you both the product and the service that you needed and
deserved.
Stan’s hard work paid off and in 1990 Vitality came to him with
an opportunity that he could not pass up. That opportunity came in the
form of franchise rights for the Denver and Colorado markets. The previous
franchise holder had made several crucial and in the end fatal mistakes
and Vitality knew exactly who to turn to in order not to loose market
share in the region.
Stan took it upon himself to see to it that the
Denver/Colorado region was properly maintained. And so it was that Stan
loaded up his delivery truck every week and personally delivered all
of the accounts that had been given to Stan’s Frozen Foods until
a time at which he could establish a branch operation in Denver to meet
the needs of Colorado on a full time basis.
Today, 15 years after opening
up our Denver branch, Stan’s successfully services 9 states, with
a total population of nearly 19 million people, and operates 9 different
branches. Stan’s started out as one of the smallest Vitality distributors
and is now the largest Vitality distributor partner both geographically
and in total annual sales.
